Blue Jays activate Chacin to make start vs. Red Sox
The Toronto Blue Jays activated left-hander Gustavo Chacin from the 15-day disabled list before his scheduled start Tuesday night against the Boston Red Sox.
Chacin had been out since May 10, when he strained his elbow and forearm against Oakland. After being placed on the 15-day DL, Chacin made a rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday and said he was ready to go.
He enters Tuesday’s game 5-1 with a 5.31 ERA.
The Blue Jays also optioned right-hander Brian Tallet to Triple-A Syracuse. Tallet went 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA.
